This guide will help you install GulpJS on Windows, Mac or Linux. If you need some help to get the installation done, please let is know!

1. Install GulpJS

I assume you allready installed NodeJS with NPM, if not, check out the installation guide for NodeJS, if you prefer a video, check out the “Frontend Workflow serie #1

We start with installing GulpJS. GulpJS is a NPM package, so the installation is simple.

For Windows

npm install --global gulp-cli

For Mac & Linux

sudo npm install --global gulp-cli

2. Installation done?

After the installation, open your terminal, type in:

gulp -v

With this command, you check the version number.  If you get the version number back, everything is good! If you get the message “command not found” or something like that. there was something wrong with the installation.

For windows, it could help to close the terminal, open it and try the command again.

If you have any problems with the installation of GulpJS, please add a comment below or send us an email or tweet. Because we love to help you out.
